Method
- Prepare, trim and wash the leeks.
- Heat the béchamel sauce and add grated cheese.
- Cook the leeks as required in either a steamer or boiling water, drain and refresh.
- Place in a gratin dish, mask over with the sauce and brown in a hot oven or under a pre heated grill.
- Serve hot garnished with Kerrymaid Grated White.
Service hint
Serve with roasted meats or as a vegetarian option.
Replace the leeks with cauliflower and top with a mix of Kerrymaid Grated (White or Coloured) and Recipere natural breadcrumbs for a great accompaniment to roast beef.
Healthy Hint
Added salt is not recommended but if used keep to a minimum. If using oil use unsaturated (olive or sunflower) and reduce the quantity used where possible. This helps to provide a nutritional balanced dish.
